Ministry of Trade – Private Sector Development Department
The Ministry of Trade’s Private Sector Development Department is one of the key formations aimed at empowering the private sector to become a strategic partner in sustainable development and diversification of the Iraqi economy. It works on improving the business environment, supporting innovative projects, and organizing various activities to strengthen institutional capacities and governance. The department also supports digital transformation in the business sector.

Ministry of Communications
The Ministry of Communications is the government body responsible for managing the telecommunications and information technology sector. It oversees telephone services, the internet, and postal services through government-affiliated companies. It works in coordination with the Media and Communications Commission to regulate the telecommunications sector, and aims to develop digital infrastructure such as fiber optics and internet networks.

Communications and Media Commission (CMC)
Established in 2004, it specializes in setting integrated regulatory standards for both the media and telecommunications sectors and reforming them, as the separation between the two sectors had become an obstacle hindering their growth and development. It is an independent body not affiliated with any government entity under the Iraqi Constitution. Its mission is to regulate and develop media and telecommunications in Iraq in accordance with modern international standards.

University of Information Technology and Communications (UOITC)
It is an Iraqi public university headquartered in Baghdad, established in 2014. It specializes exclusively in the fields of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). The university offers programs that combine engineering, business informatics, and biomedical informatics. It aims to support digital transformation in Iraq by preparing graduates with technical skills that meet the demands of both the local and international job markets.
